Aqua Meds KoiCure

KoiCure is pure oxolinic acid with no fillers, the treatment we reach for when a koi has an open ulcer, mouth rot, fin rot or the red streaking of septicemia. It targets the gram-negative bacteria, Aeromonas and Pseudomonas, that cause most bacterial problems in ponds. Because it can be given as a bath or in food, you can treat one fish in a hospital tank or a whole pond that is showing early signs.

How to use it

• One-hour dip: 25 ppm, about 5 g in 50 gallons, in an aerated isolation tank.
• Prolonged bath: 5 ppm, 19 g per 1,000 gallons, for 3 to 5 days, then a 25% water change.
• Short bath: 10 ppm, 38 g per 1,000 gallons, for 6 to 12 hours.
• Medicated food: dissolve 1 g per pound of koi food, coat evenly, air-dry, and feed once daily for 10 days. This is the best route for a fish that is still eating.

Sizes

25 g, 50 g and 100 g. A 25 g tub covers a full prolonged bath on a 1,000-gallon pond with some left for medicated food.

Do not combine with other antibiotics, keep water quality high while treating, and pair it with Medzyme afterwards so the harmful bacteria do not simply come back. For ornamental fish only. Deep ulcers often need topical treatment as well; bring the fish in or call us.
