Japanese-made linear diaphragm air pumps, and the quiet workhorse of pond aeration. FujiMAC built these for Japan's Jokasou wastewater market — roughly 40% of an installed base of some 9 million systems — which is a duty cycle no koi pond will ever match. What reaches the pond side is a pump engineered to run continuously for years.

Choosing a size

FujiMAC's chart below is a guide, not a rule. Depth matters more than gallons: the deeper the water, the more pressure the pump has to overcome to push air out of the diffuser at the bottom. In practice, for most ponds around 3 feet deep running a single airstone, a 40R II is usually enough. Deeper ponds need a stronger pump. If you're running several airstones, you don't have to buy one big pump — you can split the load across two or more smaller ones, which also means you're never without air if one goes down. Not sure? Call us at 786-304-2352 with your depth and how many airstones you're running.

Model Pond capacity Max depth
40R II up to 1,000 gal 47"
60R II up to 1,500 gal 61"
80R II up to 2,000 gal 78"
100R II up to 2,500 gal 97"
120R II up to 3,000 gal 116"
200R II Largest pump FujiMAC sells in North America. Commercial systems, or ganged with other 200R II units. No pond rating published.

Manufacturer figures. Treat them as a starting point — a heavily stocked pond, a long air line, or a fine diffuser all change what the pump actually delivers.

Why these instead of a cheaper pump

  • Two moving parts. A floating rare earth magnet and two synthetic diaphragms — no pistons, no bearings, no oil, nothing else to wear out
  • Rebuildable in about 15 minutes with two common hand tools, rather than replaced
  • Genuinely quiet — 37 dB on the smaller units, roughly a whisper in a library
  • Low draw — the 40R II runs on 30 watts, less than a games console, and it runs 24/7
  • Stable output — FujiMAC states performance does not degrade over time, with smooth airflow rather than uneven pulses
  • Resettable circuit breaker built into every model
  • Two-year manufacturer's replacement warranty

All models run on 120V / 60 Hz. The 40R II through 120R II share one body; the 200R II is the larger, heavier chassis.

FujiMAC does not publish cabinet dimensions, amperage, diaphragm service life, or an outdoor/weatherproof rating for any model in this series.
