Saki-Hikari Growth Koi Food — Sinking Pellets

Hikari's professional Saki-Hikari line, developed in Japan and proven over decades by breeders. The sinking version of Saki-Hikari Growth — same probiotic growth formula as the floating diet, in a pellet that goes down instead of staying on the surface.

Why sinking

Sinking pellets suit koi that feed low in the water rather than coming up to take food off the top, and they keep feeding calm in windy or open ponds where floating food drifts to one corner or over a skimmer. Some breeders also prefer a sinking diet for body development, since the fish are not gulping air at the surface with every mouthful.

Saki-Hikari sinking is produced in 44 lb (20 kg) bulk only — there is no small bag in this format. If you want smaller quantities, the floating pellets are a separate listing and go down to 17.6 oz.

Choosing a pellet size

Pellet grade does not change the food — same formula either way, only the size of the pellet.

• Medium (5.0–5.5 mm) — suits most koi from tosai upward.
• Large (7.5–8.5 mm) — for jumbo fish that take a bigger mouthful.
